1. The Center for Gender and Development (CGAD) shall conduct an orientation on the Gender and Development (GAD) Preliminary Screening Tool.

2. The proponent shall prepare research proposal guided by the tool and submit the same to his Academic Unit (AU).

3. From the list of experts provided by the University Research Office, the proponent shall select   a mentor and submit his/her name to URO.

4. The AU shall certify and endorse research proposal to CGAD.

5. The CGAD together with the proponent shall review proposal to determine whether or not proposal has gender components.

  • 5.1. If proposal has below 50% gender component but proponent wants to make it more gender responsive, the CGAD shall subject the same to HGDG tool and proponent must comply with suggestions.

Then, the CGAD shall issue certification that it has reviewed the proposal and endorse the   same to the URO   for review.

  • 5.2. If proposal has below 50% gender component but proponent wants to make it more gender responsive, the CGAD shall subject the same to HGDG tool and proponent must comply with suggestions.

Then, the CGAD shall issue certification that it has reviewed the proposal and endorse the same to the URO for review.

  • 5.3. If proposal has below 50% gender component and proponent does not want to make it more responsive, the CGAD shall issue certification to that effect and endorse the same to the URO for review.

6. The URO together with the AU dean and/or research coordinator and pool of experts shall review the proposal.

7. The proponent complies with suggestions.

8. The proponent shall submit enhanced copy of the proposal thru the OP approved by the URO Director and the VPRE.

  • 8.1. If research involves humans, including IPs, the URO shall submit enhanced proposal to ERC.
  • 8.2. If research involves IPs, the URO shall submit enhanced proposal also to NCIP.                           
  • 8.3. If research involves animals, the URO shall submit enhanced proposal to IACUC.                       
  • 8.4. If research involves indigenous plants, the URO shall submit enhanced proposal to DENR
  • 8.5. If research involves indigenous plants planted on ancestral lands, the URO also submits enhanced proposal to NCIP. The IACUC, ERC, NCIP or DENR shall review proposal.

9. If approved, OP shall be processed.

10.  The URO shall prepare contract.

11.  The proponent shall start data generation.
